2020 Stars RR & Playoff Thread

The playoffs for the Stars starts with a three game Round Robin to determine seeding:

As I said in the other thread, I don't get the point of these games. They're basically exhibition games since there is no home ice advantage.

You do get last change if you're a home team and that counts for quite a bit.

Today this advantage faded a bit, every coach has a plan B (or C or even D) in such situations. When asked about what real advantages brings the fact to be the home team (It was Claude Julien when he was still coach in Boston I think), he responded: in a game #7, when there's approx. one minute remaining to play and the score is either tied or we are trailing by one and the face-off is in the offensive zone, I have the possibility to proceed to the last change.

I think some of the purpose is to have these teams playing some game so they don't enter the first round completely rusty. And then to make them competitive they added the seating element hoping it would help, but I don't think it really did.

Read that there were zero positive tests in the bubble thru the first full week. I admit, I had reservations, but seems like the bubble is working. And a big thank you to Canada.

I think last change will have a bigger impact for some teams, like Dallas.

Also, just more hockey. Admit it - after so long without hockey, and at some point in watching these games, you've said to yourself some variation of "damn, hockey's cool."

Finally, a garbage goal, which I'm fine taking. Those usually mean you are at least around the net trying to make passes. That's a huge upgrade over shots from the perimiter.
